Sonal Chauhan recently was in the pink city for an inauguration of a retail store. She was invited to cut the ribbon by the director of the company. Sonal Chauhan was scheduled to reach the venue at noon. Little did she know that there was a huge crowd awaiting her. Says a horrified Sonal: “As soon as I reached the venue, it was complete mayhem. I wasn’t allowed to get out of my car as the crowd went totally out of control”. Thanks to the security, she was able to reach the main inauguration area. However, as luck would have it, as soon as she got out of her car, the crowd got more frantic. Fans of all age groups were enthused for getting her autograph. She further adds, “The whole experience was really scary. I have never faced such a crowd before. They were full of energy and hyper as they had been waiting for a while, they wanted to come on the stage to meet me where I had to cut the ribbon. They kept shouting Zoya instead of Sonal”. Zoya was the name of Sonal’s character in her debut film Jannat. Post the event Sonal met a very interesting fan. An urdu poet gifted her two of his favourite poetry books. Sonal says excitedly “I was so touched by the gesture, he is an urdu poet by profession and he wanted me to read some of his poetry”. Ask her if she has read his poems she said, “He has written some amazing poems, I like reading urdu poems and have never come across such beautiful poetry” On knowing that Sonal Chauhan was coming to the event, her fans reached the venue way before time and hence had to wait for her. Sonal ends with a happy note “I was really touched by the people and their madness. It always feels nice when you are acknowledged by fans”. The pink city surely knows how to welcome their guests
